TAY HUEY MENG – Lighting Designer
Formerly an artiste and Assistant Stage Manager with the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company, Huey Meng was Singapore Dance Theatre’s Production and Stage Manager (1990 – 1995). As a freelance technical manager, he has worked on numerous productions for TheatreWorks. His credits include: The Nutcracker, Madame Butterfly and Giselle (Singapore Dance Theatre), Tosca and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Singapore Lyric Opera), Mixed Signals and Beauty World (TheatreWorks), and Art (Singapore Repertory Theatre). Huey Meng has also undertaken projects in Malaysia, Hong Kong, China and Turkey.
An experienced lighting designer, Huey Meng’s projects include various dance productions, ranging from modern dance to Chinese and Indian traditional dance. As lighting designer for Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (1995-2001), he designed the schools’ new lighting system. His theatrical production include Chinese opera, Seventy-two Tenants, and Odyssey Dance Theatre’s productions.
